The Streets of Baltimore
THE STREETS OF BALTIMORE
Baltimore boasted one of the most vibrant music scenes in the country in the 1950s and ‘60s. Del McCoury cut his teeth playing the clubs on and near Broadway during this time period and credits this period in his career for honing his skills as a live musician. Bill Monroe would stop through Baltimore on his way to New York to recruit musicians, and this is how Del first had the chance to play with the Father of Bluegrass.
Almost sixty years after Del got his start playing in Baltimore, he is still putting on tremendous live shows and singing as well as he ever has. The Streets of Baltimore captures this sixty years of pouring his heart into his music. Like a fine wine, Del McCoury just keeps getting better with age.
